I created this concept for the Spring 2014 issue of DAMchic Magazine. The theme was inspired by the quirky Zooey Deschanel.
I wanted to create an experience that evoked playfulness and joy. Using unexpected details throughout the space gave a whimsy feeling; but also held a sophisticated touch.
Mixing and matching patterns and colors is a fine art. Here I display where I shine on mixing unexpected pieces together to create unique table settings.
All photography was done by the amazing Dana Briggs.
I was lucky enough to secure the Interiors Editor position for DAMchic Magazine; a fashion and lifestyle magazine run by students at Oregon State University. My job was to create features inspired by the issue's theme. Using trend forecasting I researched the popular trends in home design and decorating; then wrote articles that explained how to achieve the looks in the readers own home. I also styled my own photo shoot for the Spring 2014 Metaphysical issue.
This was one of my favorite projects to be a part of; it helped me grow and find my strengths as a designer. This position ignited a passion to explore, learn, create, write, and dream of possibilities I didn't think were available to me. What was something I applied for on a whim changed my perception of the career I wanted to obtain!
